Google Adsense
|
Google AdSense is a fast and
easy way for website publishers of all sizes
to display relevant adverts on their website's
content pages and earn money. Basically you
place some code on your web site which allows
Google to post adverts there. The adverts will
be relevant to your sites content so if you
have a site on say 'dogs' you might have adverts
for dog food appear. When a visitor to your
web site clicks on an advert you earn money.
This is one of the easiest ways to make money
from your hobby web site, I make a lot of money
this way.

The first thing you need to do is sign up for a Google
Adsense account. You will need to have your web site
or blog up and running before you sign up because
Google will want to review your site to check it is
suitable for their adverts. If you have built a good
information based web site or blog you will be approved.
Before you apply for a google adsense
account make sure all these points are true of your
web site or blog:
-
Your site has 20 completed pages
or over or your blog has five articles.
-
Your site doesn't have any pages
that are under construction
-
You don't display any illegal content
or content that google would disaprove of. It can
sometimes be difficult to know what google will
not like so to be on the safe side if you are unsure
of something leave it out of your web site. To give
you an example of things that may mean your site
is not approved - If your hobby is say collecting
designer handbags you might think it a good idea
to put some information on how many counterfeit
bags are available today but because counterfeits
are illegal google may decline your site if you
have information on them.
-
You have a good information based
web site.
If you follow these points your site should be approved
for Google Adsense. To apply for the program Click
Once you have had your account accepted you can place
adverts on your web site and start earning money.
There has been some debate about whether you should
place Adsense ad's on your site before you are getting
many visitors and before your site is listed in search
engines. Well in my experience the best method I have
found for adding adverts is to put one advert on your
home page when your account is accepted and then only
put adverts on other pages if they are getting over
100 page views a month.
This way your site won't be swamped with adverts but
the most visited pages will have adverts on them and
earn you money.
