Home Book Keeping Business
A home book keeping business is a great
idea for a low cost home business because it can bring
in an income in several different ways and there is
very little outlay.
The best way to get this type of business
noticed is online. Business owners who will require
your services will most likely search online for information
about book keeping and accounting before they consider
hiring anyone. Small business owners who are new to
business usually know very little about book keeping
and are daunted by it. If you can provide information
to help ease their worries they will trust you and
are more likely to use your services.
Take a look at my Get
Started Guide and see how my experiences in business
can be applied to your book keeping business. It will
not only show you the importance of providing your
customer with information but will also tell you how
you can make multiple income streams by developing
an online presence that promotes your services and
makes money through advertising and information products.
This could provide you with a long term secure income.
Once you have looked at the guide come
back here. Below are some examples of income streams
and tools that can help you promote and develop your
business.
How Can I Develop My Book Keeping
Business?
If you have got this far I am assuming
that you are a book keeper and know how to keep books.
I can't teach you how to do that but what I can do
it teach you how to turn your skill into a profitable
business. I can show you how to bring in an income
from several different sources through book keeping
(That said one book I do recommend for any book keeper
as I have found it very helpful for my business is
Keeping
The Books
).
First of all if you are a book keeper
what you have probably done up until now, or plan
to do, is approached local businesses and sole traders
to see if they are in need of your services. This
is a fantastic way to start and a good way to build
up a foundation and a customer base. What this relies
on though is you going out there are finding customers
either by approaching businesses directly or by advertising
in newspapers and local publications that can be costly.
What this also relies on is you getting
work and completing business books every month. Basically
if you can't do any book keeping, if you are sick,
if you are on holiday, if one of you children is sick
and needs looking after or if you just need some time
off, you don't get paid.
What you can do online that you can't
do anywhere else is advertise your business at a very
low cost and really promote your services through
information so that your customers come to you instead
of you having to approach them. You can also build
a residual income that will continue to come in every
month regardless of whether you work or not.
Basically what you would need to do
is have your own web site that tells people about
your book keeping business. If you answer some commonly
asked book keeping questions and give solutions to
some of the fears that business owners have about
doing their books you can develop a very good relationship
with your potential customers and they will be fighting
to use your services because they know they can trust
you.
What you can then also do is promote
products that you recommend your clients use through
your web site to bring in a residual income. For example
you could promote the Quick Books accounting system.
Quickbooks will actually pay you 10% of all referrals,
on Quickbooks Premier that's $50 per referral.
You can refer your clients but also
those people you can't serve, for example people who
are out of your geographic area. What you will find
is that people visit your web site because you provide
answers to their questions and even if they can't
use your services they will follow your recommendations
because you have gained their trust. You income can
grow considerably in this way and your business will
be booming.
If you have not already done so take
a look at my Get
Started Guide It will tell you how to get started.
